Pizza for dinner!
It's a bit on the high side, but not too shabby for homemade pizza!
2/3 cup cup Weight Watchers Italian Blend Cheese
13 Turkey Pepperonis
1/2 cup pizza sauce on the entire pizza, no just my part
A mess of veggies
Pillsbury pizza dough, my portion is 1/3 of the crust
14 WW PP....very filling. 1/3 with a nice salad would be plenty!

My favorite breakfast
This is breakfast.
1 cup of Dannon Light & Fit Vanilla Yogurt
1/2 cup of fruit (blueberries in this case)
1/4 cup of Fiber One cereal
4 WW PointsPlus
1 milk serving
1 fruit/veg serving
And it's delicious!!!
I started eating this for breakfast when I was previously on Weight Watchers. This is one of the few things that carried with me through all this time, though I did stop measuring the portions about 1.5 years ago. I've been eating this same breakfast, everyday, for over two years...and I'm not normally a creature of habit-it just tastes soooooo good, it's all I want!
Now I'm trying to get off the Light & Fit yogurt (it's full of artificial sweeteners) and over to Plain Organic yogurt. I purchased both the Dannon and plain at the grocery store today and will start to do 3/4 Dannon, 1/4 plain for this week. Then move to 1/2 and 1/2, then 1/4 and 3/4, until I am just eating plain organic yogurt. We'll see how this goes.... I also want to look into greek yogurt a bit more, I've heard a lot of good things about it.

A New Name, a New Year
Just before Christmas Joe and I were talking about what to buy each other for a gift. We are a tad tight on money currently, and have a 2 week vacation coming up that we have been saving for, so we didn't want to spend a lot on Christmas presents for each other. I thought about buying a couple pairs of jeans since I didn't have too many that fit comfortably.
Then I thought about why they didn't fit comfortably....and it's my own fault. I have chosen, for the past 2 years, to pretty much eat whatever, whenever I wanted. Sure, I showed some restraint (very minimal!) and as a result I started to creep up toward my previous heaviest weight.
I weighed myself.
I was 10 pounds away from my "Never again will I weigh this much" weight.
Instead of buying new jeans, I asked Joe for a 3 month online subscription to Weight Watchers.
Instead of buying the next size up, I chose to get back on track.
The Weight Watchers program has changed a bit since I was last a member, and it's all for the better. It has helped me form a better mentality about weight loss. On the previous plan I was all about "How much can I eat for as few points as possible?" On occasion vegetables would pass my lips, but it was rare to see fruit-due to the points they "cost". Instead I would fill myself up on startchy, high carb, low cal, sugary snacks. Anyone who even knows a TINY bit about health, knows this isn't wise and is no way to maintain!
On the new plan, most all fruit and vegetables are zero points. Which encourages you to eat them. And wow-low and behold-they fill you up! Who woulda thought? ;-)
And I love fruits and vegetables-I always have. I just had a backwards and warped focus on my previous weight loss journey. Yes, I did loose weight previously. 40 pounds! However, I was only eager to make it to my goal weight so I would be allowed to eat more - I was hungry all the time, and continued to try to fill myself up on high fiber bars and 100 calorie packs.
Things have changed.
It's a new year, I am making much wiser choices and LOVING it! It's not all about a number on a scale, but it's about overall health--for the rest of my life.
I have decided to just change the name of this blog to "Making Choices" instead of making a brand new one...the blog is mostly for me to stay accountable to myself anyway. If other people read this and enjoy it, that's fantastic. If not, that's okay.
Life is full of choices...one of them is what we put in our mouths.

This Blog
I've always intended to use this blog, but never have on a regular basis.
I want to share some recipes/food stuff from my new healthier lifestyle, but I'm not sure if I will just use this space, or create something new...
